A poem inspired by this painting by Amanda Lux
“dancing with the rain”
When the rain falls from every direction and there is no way to avoid getting wet
do not hide as though you are a person who lives only inside
become a creature again.
Let your limbs fall open
Let your thirst be quenched
do no avert your eyes from the rains steely glare
let yourself be seen and drenched
Do not run or scurry
or try to move between the drops-
Dance with the rain instead.
